Football 7 a Side has been part of the Paralympic Programme since the New York and Stoke Mandeville Games, in 1984 and is practiced by athletes with cerebral palsy, and each team has seven players on the field.
Speed, agility, and impressive handling of the ball are characteristics of the players of Football 7-a-side, an event that arouses more interest at each edition of the Paralympic Games.
The rules are practically the same as those of conventional Football. The two main alterations are the absence of offsides rule and the throw-in, which can be done with one or two hands. The games are disputed in two halves of 30 minutes each.
