The image of Brazil that goes around the world. That’s Copacabana, the neighborhood located in the area that has some of the main Brazilian touristic places, such as the Sugar Loaf, Corcovado, de Copacabana Beach, Guanabara Bay, Flamengo Earthwork and Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon. It is in this scenery of rare beauty that 2016’s Olympic Games can promote open air competitions, such as triathlon, road cycling, beach volleyball, aquatic marathon, rowing and canoeing.

The area already receives several big-sized international events, always successfully regarding organization and audience. In 2016, it will not be different. Copacabana Beach and Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon Rowing Stadium, for example, will receive competitions in five modalities: rowing, canoeing, beach volleyball, triathlon and aquatic marathon. Flamengo Park and Glória Marine will be the center of three modalities of competitions: walking, cycling and sail.
